Reconciler

What is Reconciler?

Reconciler is a publication by the Mary Hoch Foundation, Think Peace Learning and Support Hub, and Mary Hoch Center for Reconciliation (MHCR), in collaboration with the United States Institute of Peace (USIP). Reconciler is an online, open-source publication that explores current research and practice in the field of reconciliation. It includes articles and essays by scholars and practitioners exploring how insights and lessons learnt from the field of reconciliation can help to improve the impact of reconciliation and peacebuilding processes globally.

In this first edition of Reconciler, authors Fanie du Toit and Angelina Mendes examine twenty cases illustrating a diverse range of reconciliation processes and practices to better understand the assumptions shaping “reconciliation in practice,” with the aim to advance efforts to improve alignment between policy frameworks, programmatic interventions, and social processes related to reconciliation.
