What We Do

Neuroscience, Community Support, and Healing

We accompany communities that carry the weight of legacies of violence by being alongside and co-creating opportunities for learning and reflection. We integrate neuroscientific insights into peer learning, co-creation processes, and knowledge sharing to collectively transform the past and build a healing future.

Accompaniment: Embracing Trust, Support, and Dialogue

Accompaniment is a compassionate approach to journeying with individuals, communities, or organizations navigating historical and contemporary challenges. This can include physical presence, emotional support, practical assistance, guidance, and conflict mediation. It recognizes that individuals and communities know best what they need to overcome the challenges they face, and seeks to provide support and presence with genuine care about their wellbeing. Accompaniment embodies the conviction that we are stronger together and can navigate adversity more effectively and sustainably when we remain alongside one another.

“It is extremely important for us to have a chance to speak with other indigenous people on how they are advancing truth telling and healing by honoring their traditions. Think Peace has been helpful for us in this. Healing is a real challenge for us but it's imperative for our survival.”

Peer Learning and Support: Strength in Connection

Peer learning and support encompass collaborative learning and mutual assistance among individuals who share similar knowledge or experiences. It involves people coming together in co-created and welcoming spaces to learn from each other and extend and receive emotional, practical, or informational support. This approach fosters a sense of community, understanding, and empowerment, making it a valuable process for personal and professional development, and for addressing shared challenges.

Co-Creation Sessions: Inspiring Innovation

Co-Creation Sessions refer to collaborative engagements that involve multiple participants coming together to generate ideas or develop innovative solutions collectively. These sessions can encompass a range of formats, including workshops, training sessions, and brainstorming meetings. During these sessions, participants actively engage, share insights, and work together to co-create new ideas, strategies, or solutions. Co-Creation Sessions promote a sense of shared ownership and collaboration, fostering a creative and inclusive environment where diverse perspectives contribute to the generation of meaningful outcomes.

“Peace is not absence of war and security is not men with guns. It is access to health and education, and discussing the broad determinants of health. Being connected to your own village and bringing your own state to become the village.”

— Co-Creation Workshop Participant

Collective Knowledge: Shared Wisdom and Insights

Collective Knowledge is the combined wisdom, information, and expertise held among the totality of members of a group, community, or society. It represents the shared understanding, insights, and skills that emerge when people collaborate, exchange ideas, and contribute their unique experiences to a common pool of knowledge. The wisdom and insights gathered in this collective approach serve to advance the shared pursuit of a healed future.
